Juvenile Justice Advisory Group Committee
The Juvenile Justice Advisory Group (JJAG) was enabled via executive order and reestablished by Governor Carney via Executive Order 11 as a specialized committee with knowledge and expertise in juvenile justice to advise the Criminal Justice Council (CJC) on a variety of areas, as required by the federal Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Act. All States are required to comply with the Act in order to be eligible for federal funding for juvenile justice programs.
The JJAG is comprised of between 15 and 33 members appointed by the Governor who have training, experience, or special knowledge in the following: prevention and treatment of juvenile delinquency; administration of juvenile justice; or reduction of juvenile delinquency. All meetings are open to the public.
