JABG Funding
The Juvenile Accountability Block Grants (JABG) program is administered by
the State and Tribal Assistance Division of the Office of Juvenile Justice
and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department
of Justice. Through the JABG program, funds are provided as block grants to
states for programs promoting greater accountability in the juvenile justice
system. Local and tribal governments can then apply to the states for funds
to support local accountability programs.

The J.A.B.G funds have been used in Delaware to create a statewide fully
integrated Juvenile Drug Court. JABG funds have been used to decrease the
amount of time
from indictment to disposition of juveniles processed in Delaware's Superior
Court. JABG funds have been used for the creation of a specialized juvenile
probation unit providing supervisory services for serious juvenile offenders.
Mental health services have been provided to serious juvenile offenders via
the JABG funds. Juvenile diversion programs have been designed and instituted
through the use of JABG funding. JABG funds have been used to establish a
transitional housing unit for serious juvenile offenders that are transitioning
back into
the community following secure custody. JABG funds have also been used to
fund a host of other programs and projects not mentioned here.
