  • Nature of Terrorism - There are six basic components to all terrorism. Terrorism is (1) an intentional and (2) rational (3) act of violence to (4) cause fear (5) in the target audience or society (6) for the purpose of changing behavior in that audience or society.

  • History of Terrorism: More than 200 Years of Development - The history of terrorism dates back at least 1500 years when Jewish resistance groups (66 - 72 A.D.) known as Zealots killed Roman soldiers and destroyed Roman property.

  • Biological Threats & Bio-Terrorism - The use of biological agents as weapons of war has a very long history.

  • Security & Hard Targeting - Security and "Hard Targeting" involve analysis of a potential threat and taking steps to protect a target (buildings, electric plants, government offices, etc) from an attack by making the target so secure that a terrorist would look for an easier target with better chances for success.
