DELAWARE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COUNCIL
Since the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon occurred on September 11, 2001 there has been a renewed interest in understanding terrorism and how to fight it. Terrorism today is a worldwide phenomenon. According to the U.S. State Department there are 28 foreign terrorist organizations that are designated as a threat to the security of the United States.
The Criminal Justice Council has created this site to provide research and policy information on dealing with terrorism and the threat of terrorism. This site is maintained by staff of the Criminal Justice Council who have been assigned to collect and disseminate information on terrorism and security issues on preventing terrorism.
The following essays are taken from presentations made by Arthur H. Garrison at the Northeastern Association of Criminal Justice Sciences Conference in June 2002, the National Criminal Justice Association Conference in July 2002, and a six-module training course on terrorism, TERRORISM: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE - A TRAINING COURSE, developed by the Delaware Criminal Justice Council and the North Miami Beach Police Department.
